Located along the northern Oregon coast just an hour from Portland, the Tillamook UAS Test Range is the Pacific Northwest’s premier facility for UAS research and development.

The Tillamook UAS Test Range offers both UAS startups and established industry giants a place to test new technologies, capabilities, ideas and innovations so they can quickly and confidently go to market.

The Tillamook UAS Test Range is a key testing facility for the Pan-Pacific UAS Test Range Complex, one of only six official FAA UAS test sites in the United States. Here you’ll experience streamlined access unavailable at non-FAA UAS test sites.

Located on a former WWII naval air base, today the Tillamook UAS Test Range is part of the Johnson Near Space Center (JNSC). Renowned as a high altitude test facility, the team at JNSC has helped everyone from NASA to startups research, design, test, and refine flight technology for nearly two decades.

Unlike other test sites, everything here is rigorously focused on UAS testing and improvement. State-of-the-art facilities include a 5,000 SF integration hanger with avionics lab and atmospheric test chamber, a mobile operations control center, two paved runways and the industry’s only dedicated 3-story UAS control tower.

Our operations area covers three pre-coordinated (Airport LOA) flight test operations areas encompassing 32,000 square miles. We offer one of the largest varieties of testable terrain types available, including maritime, littoral, forests, mountains, urban and rural. Our operations area provides access to Class A, D, E and G airspace.

All our operations are based on first-class safety risk management processes and procedures overseen by our highly-trained and experienced staff.

In addition, the Tillamook UAS Test Range is one of the few ranges in the nation with a Certificate of Authority (COA) from the FAA for Beyond Visual Line of Sight and escorted operations with a Cessna 205.
